Owner/Senior Manager Course
Learning how to develop effective health and safety programs – that prevent accidents and reduce WorkSafeBC claims – is something that every business owner needs to know. It’s fundamental to creating a safe work environment. According to the Workers Compensation Act and regulation, it’s the employers responsibility to implement a health and safety program to prevent workplace injury and disease. Legislation provides for heavy penalties for employers who fail to ensure appropriate training and safe work practices. This CSABC course gives owners and senior managers a detailed understanding of their health and safety responsibilities.
Description
This half-day course focuses on reducing WorkSafeBC claims costs through accident prevention. Detailed presentations help participants to understand WSBC safety regulations, and liabilities under the Workers Compensation Act and regulation. Learn about the WorkSafeBC Experience Rating System and due diligence requirements. Instructors explain how to set up and monitor worksite health and safety programs. This includes how to establish and maintain a successful Return-to-Work program.

Course Requirements
This course can be taken on an individual basis, or as part of the CSABC Certificate of Recognition Program (mandatory requirement for COR).
