Large Business Safety Auditor Training
Conducting a safety audit highlights health and safety program elements that exceed or fall below a standard and provides valuable feedback and direction for continuous improvement. Audits are also part of due diligence and help minimize risks and the incidence of injury and illness to workers. This course provides businesses with more than 20 employees with the tools required to measure the performance of their health and safety program against industry-accepted standards.
Description
This two-day course teaches participants how to gather the information necessary to successfully complete a health and safety program audit. The workshop leads participants through the audit document and shows them how to use a standardized national audit instrument. Participants gain experience in using the three forms of verification: documentation, observation and interviews. The course consists of six training modules:

Who Should Attend
This course is for health and safety professionals working for large construction industry businesses and their employees as well as other health and safety professionals committed to preventing workplace injuries through safety audits.

- Describe how to achieve and maintain auditor certification
Course Requirements
This course can be taken on an individual basis, or as part of the CSABC Certificate of Recognition Program (mandatory requirement for COR). *Participants are required to pass an in-class test and submit an audit to CSABC within a pre-determined time period after course completion to obtain certification as an auditor. Participants must have knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and one year’s construction-related field experience. It is ideal if participants also take the CSABC Supervisor Course, but is not required.
