Fall Protection: Train-The-Trainer Program
Falls are one of the leading causes of fatalities and serious injury in the construction industry. On average 10 workers die in BC each year from falls. Fall Protection Training is essential and can save lives. This Train-The-Trainer program allows you to train your workers on fall protection requirements and the various systems designed to protect them on the job. The program was developed by CSABC and the Fall Protection Group Inc. (FPG), one of North America’s foremost training resources. Once certified, trainers can deliver the Industrial/Commercial Fall Protection End-User Course for British Columbia in accordance with the principles and training agreements outlined in the training materials and training sessions.
Description

It provides participants with an in-depth understanding and hands-on training in general fall protection principles as they relate to safety standards in BC, and the critical components of safe and effective fall protection systems. Upon completing the program, participants who meet requirements will be certified in one of the most recognized courses of its kind in the province. FPG will provide the instructor, course materials and curriculum for each Fall Protection Train-The-Trainer session.

Who Should Attend
This program is intended for qualified trainer candidates who wish to improve health and safety knowledge in their workplace by meeting the certification requirements to deliver the Industrial/Commercial Fall Protection End-User Course for British Columbia.

Course Requirements
Trainers must meet the following criteria: Complete the FPG Industrial/Commercial end-user fall protection program and another fall protection training program or possess equivalent experience; Possess a minimum of two year’s work experience in the construction, oil & gas or fall protection industry or equivalent, knowledge of WorkSafeBC Health & Safety legislation, and general health & safety knowledge; Possess knowledge of CSA and ANSI standards; Be proficient with fall protection plans and equipment; Demonstrate good communication skills and instructional techniques; Supply own personal protective equipment and fall protection equipment; Be capable of meeting all insurance and course logistics requirements; Possess current basic level of first aid.
